Academic Support

At the School of Architecture and Engineering Technology (SAET), academic advisors assist students with course choices, as well as, other academic issues that may arise. Prior to registering, each student must meet with an academic advisor to chart an acceptable course of study.

Academic Advising

No student is permitted to register for any course without the written approval of the academic advisor. Please contact your academic advisor:

Students should review his/her academic records in iRattler, the official repository of grades and information. Any discrepancies in accuracy should be brought to the attention of the advisor.

Office of Transfer Student

FAMU's Office of Transfer Student Services assists transfer students on their educational journey as they transition from their current educational institution to FAMU. Our staff provides assistance and oversight, including recruitment, transfer admissions advising, transfer orientation, curriculum maps, direction for campus resources, priority registration, and scholarships for eligible students.

IGNITE Program

Through our IGNITE Program, students who attend an (FCS) Florida College System institution are guaranteed general admission into FAMU after completion of an Associate of Arts degree, [Pursuant to 1007.23 F.S.]. Note: Limited access programs may require additional admissions and prerequisite requirements.

Transfer Agreements

State of Florida articulated Pre-Architecture Programs exist at the following institutions.  Associate of Arts (AA) degree graduates from these programs are eligible to apply for direct admission into the upper division:

  • Broward College
  • Hillsborough Community College
  • Miami-Dade College
  • Palm Beach State College
  • St. Pete College
  • Valencia College

The FAMU SAET has "Articulation Agreements" with community colleges that enable students to take equivalency courses at the community college. With an Associate of Arts degree and an additional summer of coursework at the FAMU School of Architecture, students are eligible to apply for admission into the upper division. These community colleges are:
