The School of Architecture & Engineering Technology (SAET) recommends all students enrolled in any degree program to bring to school a personal laptop powerful enough to support the demanding video and computational requirements necessary for coursework as well as adequate storage to accommodate new and future software releases. This guideline reflects the reality that students without an appropriately configured laptop will not be able to fully participate in the broad array of activities essential to an evolving design and technology education.
Florida A&M University provides all students, faculty, and staff free access to Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Enterprise, and FAMU Email.
Laptops configured to the recommended hardware specifications are available to order from manufacturers such as, Dell, HP, Lenova, Acer, etc., or retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Office Depot to name a few.
It is strongly recommended students purchase a PC, as a Mac properly configured to run many design software programs is more costly and complicated.
